Sports for People with Disabilities

This week I thought we would look at sports that people with a disabilities can participate in. While doing the research I found a lot of different accessible sport. Some are based on existing sports but customized to meet the needs of people with disabilities, a number of sports have been specially created for people with disabilities have no corresponding able-bodied sport
Nowadays, people with a disability participate in high performance as well as in recreational and competitive sport. The number of people involved in sport and physical activity is gradually increasing around the world and this is true for athletes with disabilities as well.
As far back as 1945 organizations began to include athletes with disabilities in sporting events such as the Olympic Games and Commonwealth Games and we know have a thriving environment for people who are interested in competing at International level, as well sporting activities at local and National levels. There is also a number of sports that are outside the formal categories, such as Wheelchair basketball, Wheelchair dancing, Weightlifting. I thought over the next week or so we could have a look at some of them.

Have a look at this, its just a little taster
